Ways To Leverage Your Company’s Presence On Facebook

Facebook fans likesSadly most companies believe that all the need is a Facebook page and they will immediately have more sales.  What they don’t understand fully is that it takes time and patience to get a strong presence on Facebook.  If you have a business Facebook page and are getting discouraged because you aren’t garnering the immediate results you need, you may not have given it enough time.  There are some things that can be done in order to get your presence more known in the Facebook community. None of these tips offer immediate success, but with patience and time, they do work.

Send Invitations to Like Your Page

This is one of the easiest ways to make your presence known and one that is not used nearly enough.  A huge mistake is thinking that those who want like your business will just search you out.  While a few may, most simply go about their day without even realizing your company has a Facebook fan page.  Some even think that inviting contacts to like their page is akin to spamming them.  This is simply not true.  It is vital that you let people know that where they can find you online.  If you were opening a new location, you would be hesitant to let your customers and clientele know.  You can invite Facebook friends to like your page, send out email invites and post your link on company emails.  Don’t forget to include a link on other social media websites and in your email signatures.

Utilize the Schedule Post Feature

Most companies work on an eight (or nine) to five basis.  Sadly, not all customers or fans are in the same time zone or work these same hours.  This leaves a need for posts to be made at a time when there is nobody in the office.  Since you can’t ask employees to work in their free time at home and it’s not cost effective to pay an employee to stay at the office, an alternative is needed.

The schedule post feature on a Facebook fan page is the perfect solution.  Simply write the status update but don’t click on the post button.  Instead, click on the little clock that is located on the bottom left side of the status update box.  This opens the scheduling area where you can set the year, date and time that you want to make your post.  Click schedule that post will go live at the scheduled time.

Target Posts to Your Fans

If your company is coming out with a product or service that is geared towards a certain demographic then you don’t need to post on every one of your fan’s walls.  You really only need to post them to that set of clientele.  You can make posts on Facebook that only show up on certain customer’s walls according to their age, gender, race or other criteria.

It is important for any business with a Facebook fan page to make their presence known.  It can be frustrating for a company to see their social media efforts come to naught because they are not doing the right things to promote their Facebook account.  Don’t make the same mistakes and get your company known by asking friends and clients to like your page, use the scheduling feature to send posts during off business hours and target your posts to the customers that are within that demographic.
