LinkedIn Reaches 200 Million Members and Announces Most Viewed Profiles

 

At the beginning of January 2013 LinkedIn has announced an important milestone: 200 million members using their site. It’s not only their achievement. It is achievement of members, who have this great opportunity to use largest Social Network for professionals.

LinkedIn is my second most favourite Social Media network (after Facebook of course), although I must say when I have joined it first, I did not understand how it works and what are the benefits.

Today I do not question the benefits any more.

It’s a great network for lead generation. It’s a social network that gets results, especially if you are in B2B type of business.

Last night I got a very pleasant email from LinkedIn, announcing my profile one of 1% the most viewed profiles in 2012.

That is SOME achievement. A stat that’s so delightful, deserves to be shared 🙂

  • Network serves members in 19 languages in…
  • …more than 200 countries.
  • 49% of LinkedIn users have a household income of over 100K  (SocialTimes.com, Jan 2012).

Approximately 2 members are joining LinkedIn every second. That’s approx. 172.800 registrations per day.

  3. Higher Education – 1.95M
  4. Computer software – 1.65M
  5. Telecommunications – 1.59M

So what does it means to us – business owners!

An untapped and fast growing marketplace with a large number of potential clients, that can be approached by right strategies.
